A personal walkabout with my mother during the pandemic.
2020
During the pandemic, my mental health wasn't the best and I realised that I was losing touch with my surroundings and myself. I didn’t know who I was and I had lost my enthusiasm for most things. I wanted to get better and I decided to create a documentary film based on the process of finding inspiration during a dark time. Sometimes you find it in the smallest and plainest part of things - you just have to look.
The process of creating music, filming my walkabouts, seeking my inspiration, giving gratitude to a building I admired through model making, and writing a poem has been one of the most treasured experiences of my life. I feel closer to myself and the world around me. I love the city I grew up in more than ever and I highly value the support and shared experience through the collaborative project with my mother.
